He taught a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, inner peace, and devotion to God and guru. He remains a very popular saint and is worshipped by people around the world. Sai Baba had no love for perishable things and his sole concern was self-realization. Thus Sai Baba denotes "holy father" or "saintly father". The honorific "Baba" means "father grandfather old man sir" in Indo_Arvan languages. Sāī is of Sanskrit origin, meaning "Sakshat Eshwar" or the divine. Sai baba never spoke about his past life.
No information is available regarding his birth and place of birth. The name "Sai" was given to him upon his arrival at Shirdi. He is a well-known figure in many parts of the world, but especially in India, where he is much revered. In the year 1990 a building to fit 3500 devotees were constructed. The Sansthan was founded to convey out the stately service of Sai Baba. In 1922, the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan was instituted. The Sansthan is the authorised body which controls and manages the day to day actions of the Shri Saibaba Samadhi Temple. The governing body is devoted towards the development of Shirdi village. They are also in charge of all other temples in the premises of the Sansthan.
